Lewisia Constant Comment is relatively low-maintenance once established. Ensure excellent drainage to prevent crown rot, and avoid overhead watering. Remove spent flower stalks to encourage reblooming and maintain plant appearance. During winter, protect from excessive moisture and provide good air circulation. Feed with a balanced fertilizer in early spring and mid-summer.
Planting Instructions
Plant in spring or early fall in well-draining soil. Choose a location with morning sun and afternoon shade in hot climates. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth. Mix native soil with grit or sand to improve drainage. Place plant at the same level it was growing in the container, backfill, and water thoroughly. Space plants 8-10 inches apart. Add a layer of gravel mulch around the plant to help maintain moisture and prevent crown rot.
