Plant Information
Plant Care
Guardian Blue Delphinium requires consistent care to thrive. Water regularly, keeping the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Apply a balanced fertilizer monthly during the growing season. Remove spent flower stalks to encourage reblooming and prevent self-seeding. Stake tall stems early in the season to prevent wind damage.
In regions with harsh winters, apply a layer of mulch around the plant base for protection. Watch for slugs and snails in spring, and treat with appropriate measures if needed. Delphiniums may require division every 3-4 years to maintain vigor.
Planting Instructions
Plant in spring or early fall, choosing a location with full sun and protection from strong winds. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth. Mix organic matter into the soil before planting. Space plants 2-3 feet apart to ensure proper air circulation.
Place the plant in the hole at the same level it was growing in the container. Backfill with soil, firming gently to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly after planting and apply a 2-inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the crown.
