Plant Overview
The Spartan Juniper Pom Pom is an elegant evergreen specimen that adds architectural interest to any landscape. Its distinctive pom pom shape is achieved through careful pruning, creating multiple spherical tiers along a central stem. This formal topiary brings a touch of sophistication to gardens, entryways, and container arrangements.
Plant Information
Plant Care
The Spartan Juniper Pom Pom requires minimal maintenance beyond maintaining its distinctive shape. Trim the spherical pom poms 2-3 times during the growing season to maintain their formal appearance. Water deeply but infrequently, allowing soil to dry between waterings. Apply a slow-release fertilizer in early spring and mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Planting Instructions
Select a location with full sun and well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and equal in depth. Remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill with soil, tamping down to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the trunk.
