Plant Overview
The Snowcap Lilac Standard is a stunning dwarf variety that brings elegance to any garden setting. This compact lilac features an abundance of fragrant, pure white blooms that appear in late spring, creating a spectacular display atop a carefully pruned standard form. Its ball-shaped crown sits gracefully on a straight stem, making it an excellent choice for formal gardens, entryways, or as a striking focal point in landscape designs.
Plant Information
Plant Care
Snowcap Lilac Standards require regular maintenance to maintain their distinctive shape. Prune after flowering to maintain the rounded crown and remove any suckers that emerge from the base. Water deeply but infrequently to establish strong roots, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring. Winter protection may be necessary in colder regions to protect the graft union.
Planting Instructions
Plant your Snowcap Lilac Standard in spring or fall for best results. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth. Position the standard, ensuring it’s straight, and backfill with soil mixed with organic matter. Water thoroughly and add a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the trunk. Stake the tree for the first growing season to ensure straight growth and stability.
