Plant Care
Saucer Magnolias thrive with consistent moisture but cannot tolerate waterlogged conditions. Apply a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer.
Pruning should be minimal and performed immediately after flowering to preserve next year’s blooms. Remove any dead, diseased, or crossing branches to maintain the tree’s natural shape and health.
Planting Instructions
Select a location with well-draining soil and adequate space for mature growth. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and equal in depth. Remove the plant from the container and gently loosen the roots.
Place the tree in the hole, ensuring it sits at the same depth as it was in the container. Backfill with original soil, tamping down gently to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch, keeping it away from the trunk.
