Plant Information
Plant Care
Maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during the establishment period and flowering season. Apply a layer of mulch to retain moisture and suppress weed growth. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins, removing dead or weak stems and shaping as desired. In colder regions, provide winter protection by wrapping the plant with burlap.
Planting Instructions
Choose a location with morning sun and afternoon shade. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and as deep as the container. Mix organic matter into the native soil to improve drainage and fertility. Remove the plant from the container and gently loosen the roots. Place the plant in the hole at the same depth it was growing in the container. Backfill with soil mixture, water thoroughly, and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the stems.
