Plant Care
Minuet Mountain Laurel thrives with proper care and attention. Maintain consistent soil moisture but avoid waterlogging. Apply a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weed growth. Fertilize in early spring with an acid-loving plant fertilizer. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and remove any dead or damaged branches.
Regular monitoring for pests such as lace bugs and scale insects is recommended. Protect from harsh winter winds and provide adequate air circulation to prevent fungal issues. Avoid excessive exposure to hot afternoon sun, which can damage the foliage.
Planting Instructions
Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and as deep as the container. Mix organic matter into the native soil to improve drainage and provide nutrients. Remove the plant from the container and gently loosen the roots. Place in the hole at the same depth as it was growing in the container.
Backfill with soil mixture, firming gently to eliminate air pockets. Water thoroughly and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch, keeping it away from the stem. Space multiple plants 2-3 feet apart to allow for mature growth.
