Plant Care
Minerva Rose of Sharon Standards require minimal maintenance once established. Regular pruning in late winter or early spring helps maintain the desired shape and promotes healthy growth. Remove any dead or crossing branches to ensure proper air circulation. Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring and mid-summer to encourage optimal blooming. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weed growth.
Planting Instructions
Select a location with adequate sunlight and well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and equal in depth. Remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place the tree in the hole, ensuring it’s planted at the same depth as it was in the container. Backfill with soil, tamping down gently to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the trunk.
