Plant Care
Korean Fir trees require minimal maintenance once established. Regular watering during the first growing season helps develop a strong root system. Apply a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, but keep it away from the trunk. Fertilize sparingly in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer formulated for conifers.
Pruning is rarely necessary, but dead or damaged branches can be removed in late winter or early spring. Monitor for signs of pests or diseases, although Korean Firs are generally resistant to most common issues.
Planting Instructions
Select a location with well-draining soil and adequate sunlight. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Remove the tree from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place the tree in the hole, ensuring it’s straight and at the same depth it was growing in the container.
Backfill with soil, tamping down gently to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the trunk. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system.
