Plant Information
Plant Care
Japanese Garden Juniper Standards are remarkably low-maintenance plants once established. They thrive in well-draining soil and require moderate watering, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Regular pruning in early spring helps maintain their distinctive shape and promotes dense growth. These hardy plants are resistant to most pests and diseases, making them ideal for both novice and experienced gardeners.
Planting Instructions
Select a location that receives full sun to partial shade. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth. Remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring it’s straight and at the proper height. Backfill with soil, tamping down gently to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the trunk. Stake the standard for the first growing season to ensure straight growth.
