Plant Care

The Bishop’s Crown pepper requires consistent watering to keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. It thrives best in full sun, so plant it in a bright, sunny location in your garden or greenhouse. Enrich the soil with compost or organic matter before planting to promote healthy growth.

Regular feeding with a balanced fertilizer every two weeks during the growing season supports vigorous development. Pruning can encourage bushier plants and improve fruit yield.

Planting Instructions

Begin by germinating seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date. Sow seeds in seed trays or small pots filled with seed starting mix, maintaining consistent moisture and providing bottom heat to enhance germination.

Once seedlings have developed several true leaves, transplant them into larger pots or directly into the garden. Select a location with full sun and well-drained soil. Space plants about 2-3 feet apart to ensure good air circulation.

Water regularly, especially during dry spells. Applying mulch around the base helps retain moisture and control weeds. Harvest peppers when they reach the desired size and color.
