Plant Care

Hino White Azaleas thrive with proper care and attention. Maintain consistent soil moisture but avoid waterlogging. Apply a layer of mulch to retain moisture and suppress weed growth. Feed with an acid-loving plant fertilizer in early spring and after flowering. Pruning is typically unnecessary but can be done after flowering to maintain shape.

Regular monitoring for common pests like lace bugs and spider mites is recommended. Protect from harsh winter winds and provide extra winter protection in colder regions. Remove spent flowers to promote plant health and maintain aesthetic appeal.

Planting Instructions

Plant in spring or fall for best results. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth. Mix organic matter into the native soil for improved drainage. Place the plant at the same level it was growing in the container. Water thoroughly after planting and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch, keeping it away from the stem.

Ensure proper spacing to allow for mature size. When planting multiple Hino White Azaleas, space them 3-4 feet apart. In areas with heavy clay soil, consider planting in raised beds for better drainage.
