Plant Information
Plant Care
Goldflame Honeysuckle is relatively low-maintenance once established. Regular watering is essential during the first growing season to develop a deep root system. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and remove dead or damaged stems. Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring and mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Planting Instructions
Plant in spring or fall in a hole twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth as the container. Mix organic matter into the soil and water thoroughly after planting. Provide support structure such as a trellis, fence, or arbor at the time of planting. Space multiple plants 3-6 feet apart to allow for mature spread. Apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the stem.
