Plant Overview
The Fernspray Golden Cypress is a stunning dwarf conifer that adds year-round interest to any landscape. Its unique, feathery golden-yellow foliage creates a striking architectural element, resembling delicate fern fronds. This slow-growing evergreen maintains its brilliant color throughout the seasons and develops a naturally compact, pyramidal form that requires minimal pruning.
Plant Information
Plant Care
Fernspray Golden Cypress is relatively low-maintenance once established. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep root system. Apply a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize in early spring with a slow-release, balanced fertilizer. Prune lightly as needed to maintain shape, though this plant naturally maintains an attractive form.
Planting Instructions
Choose a location with well-draining soil and adequate sunlight. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill with soil, water thoroughly, and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch, keeping it away from the trunk.
