Plant Care
English Daisies thrive with regular maintenance and proper care. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, but avoid waterlogging. Remove spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering and prevent self-seeding. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring and mid-summer. In hot climates, provide afternoon shade to protect the plants from intense heat.
During winter months, apply a light layer of mulch to protect the roots in colder regions. Watch for common pests like slugs and snails, especially in damp conditions. Regular inspection and maintenance will help keep your English Daisies healthy and blooming prolifically.
Planting Instructions
Plant English Daisies in spring or fall, spacing them 6-8 inches apart. Dig holes twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth as the container. Gently remove the plant from its pot and loosen the roots if they’re tightly bound. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring it sits at the same level as it did in its container.
Fill in around the roots with soil, firming gently to eliminate air pockets. Water thoroughly after planting and apply a layer of mulch around the plants, keeping it away from the stems. For container planting, use well-draining potting mix and ensure containers have adequate drainage holes.
