Plant Information
Plant Care
The Dwarf Golden Japanese Yew is remarkably low-maintenance once established. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep root system. While tolerant of pruning, this dwarf variety naturally maintains its compact shape. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. The brightest golden color develops in full sun, though some afternoon shade is beneficial in hot climates.
Planting Instructions
Plant in spring or fall for best results. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth. Remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill with original soil, tamping down to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch, keeping it away from the trunk.
