Plant Information
Plant Care
The Domschke Mugho Pine is remarkably low-maintenance and adaptable to various growing conditions. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep root system. Once established, this pine demonstrates excellent drought tolerance. Annual pruning in late spring can help maintain its compact form, though it naturally keeps its shape well. Apply a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weed growth.
Planting Instructions
Select a location with full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and equal in depth. Remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring it sits at the same depth as it was in the container. Backfill with soil, tamping down gently to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly after planting and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the trunk.
