Plant Information
Plant Care
Commemoration Sugar Maples require minimal maintenance once established. Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Apply a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weed growth, but keep it away from the trunk. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer.
Planting Instructions
Select a location with adequate space for mature growth, away from buildings and power lines. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and at the same depth. Remove the tree from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place the tree in the hole, ensuring it’s straight and at the proper depth. Backfill with original soil, tamping down to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base.
