Plant Information
Plant Care
Chief Joseph Lodgepole Pine is remarkably low-maintenance once established. Water deeply but infrequently to encourage deep root growth. No pruning is typically necessary, though dead or damaged branches can be removed in early spring. Apply a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, but keep it away from the trunk to prevent rot.
Planting Instructions
Plant in spring or early fall for best results. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and at the same depth. Remove the container and gently loosen the roots. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring it sits at the same level as it did in the container. Backfill with soil, water thoroughly, and add a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the trunk.
