Plant Care
Cardinal False Spirea is relatively low-maintenance once established. Regular watering is essential during the first growing season to develop a deep root system. Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins to maintain shape and remove dead or damaged branches. Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring to promote healthy growth and vibrant foliage color.
Mulch around the base of the plant to retain moisture and suppress weed growth, but keep mulch away from the crown to prevent rot. Monitor for pests and diseases, although this plant is generally resistant to most common garden problems.
Planting Instructions
Choose a location with adequate space for the mature plant size. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and equal in depth. Remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring it sits at the same depth as it was in the container.
Backfill with soil, firming gently to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly after planting and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the stem. Continue regular watering until established.
