Plant Care
Canada Wild Rye is remarkably low-maintenance and drought-tolerant once established. This hardy grass requires minimal attention throughout the growing season. Cut back the foliage to 6 inches above ground level in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. Remove dead foliage as needed and divide clumps every 3-4 years to maintain vigor and prevent center die-out.
Planting Instructions
Plant Canada Wild Rye in spring or fall for optimal establishment. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth. Remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring it sits at the same level as it did in the container. Backfill with soil, water thoroughly, and apply a light layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the crown.
