Plant Care

Bumbleberry Garden Sage is remarkably easy to maintain and drought-tolerant once established. Regular pruning of spent flowers encourages continuous blooming and maintains a compact shape. In spring, cut back old stems to promote fresh growth. This variety shows excellent disease resistance and requires minimal fertilization, making it perfect for both novice and experienced gardeners.

For optimal growth, ensure good air circulation around the plant and avoid overwatering, as sage is susceptible to root rot in consistently wet conditions. During winter months, reduce watering and provide protection from harsh winds in colder regions.

Planting Instructions

Plant Bumbleberry Sage in spring after all danger of frost has passed. Choose a location with full sun and well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth. Remove the plant from its container, gently loosen the roots, and place it in the hole.

Backfill with soil, ensuring the plant sits at the same level as it did in its container. Water thoroughly after planting and apply a light layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the stem. Space plants 18-24 inches apart to allow for mature growth.
