Plant Care
Blue Danube Juniper is remarkably easy to maintain and drought-tolerant once established. This hardy evergreen requires minimal pruning, though light shaping can be done in early spring to maintain desired form. Apply a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weed growth.
During the first growing season, water regularly to establish a deep root system. Once established, reduce watering frequency as this plant is drought-resistant. Fertilize sparingly in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer.
Planting Instructions
Choose a location with full sun exposure and well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and equal in depth. Remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface.
Backfill with soil, tamping down gently to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly after planting and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the trunk. Space plants 4-6 feet apart to accommodate mature spread.
